Medical ethics and advertising
Last updated: 25 October 2026
This page explains the rules Jaipur Hospital follows when it tells you about its doctors and treatments, on this website and elsewhere, and how we protect your confidentiality. It sits alongside our Privacy policy and Medical disclaimer.
The rules we follow
- Professional conduct of doctors. The National Medical Commission (NMC), which replaced the Medical Council of India, notified the National Medical Commission (Registered Medical Practitioner Professional Conduct) Regulations, 2023 in August 2023 and later held them in abeyance for review. Until they take effect, the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002 continue to apply. We follow the principles the two share: honest and factual information, no self-promotion or solicitation of patients, no commissions for referrals, and strict confidentiality.
- Advertising law. The Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Central Consumer Protection Authority's guidelines against misleading advertisements, and the Advertising Standards Council of India's guidelines for healthcare.
- Privacy law. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and Rules, 2025 (see our Privacy policy).
- Pre-conception and pre-natal diagnostic law. We do not determine or disclose the sex of a foetus. See PC&PNDT.
How we describe treatments
- Facts, not promises. We explain what a condition is, how it is treated, how recovery usually goes and what the risks are. We never guarantee a result, call a treatment "painless" or "permanent", or say it is "100%" successful.
- No superlatives or comparisons. We do not call ourselves the best, the biggest or the leading hospital, and we never compare ourselves with, or speak badly of, other doctors or hospitals.
- Based on medical evidence. Our treatment pages and patient guides are written from published medical research, clinical guidelines and trusted patient-information sources, in plain language. Study results describe groups of patients and are presented that way, never as what will happen to you.
- No fear or pressure. We explain warning signs that need urgent care, because that helps patients. We do not use fear, countdowns or "act now" pressure to win patients.
- Costs as ranges. Any cost shown is a typical range in India with what changes it, not a quote or an offer. Ask us for an estimate for your own case. We do not run discounts or "packages" to attract patients unless they are real, current and stated with their conditions.
How we present our doctors
- We show a doctor's name, qualifications, specialty and experience only as the doctor or the hospital has confirmed them. Where a detail is not yet confirmed, we leave it out rather than guess.
- A treatment page or guide says "medically reviewed" only after the named doctor has reviewed it. Until then it says the review is pending.
- We do not pay for, or accept payment for, referrals of patients, and our doctors do not take commissions from laboratories, pharmacies or other doctors.
- We do not promote individual doctors with claims of superiority, and we do not publish patients' praise of a doctor's skill as proof of results.
Your confidentiality
- What you tell us and what we learn while caring for you is confidential. We share it only with the people caring for you, with your insurer or scheme when you ask us to, with another doctor or hospital continuing your care, or when the law requires it.
- We never publish a patient's name, photograph, scans or any detail that could identify them without the patient's written consent, and never for a child without a parent's or guardian's written consent.
- Any patient story or review we publish is shared with written consent, describes the person's own experience, and is not presented as a promise that others will have the same result.
